About Dr Nancy E. Heath
We welcome Dr Nancy E Heath to our practice. Over the last few years you may have met Dr. Heath, as she has from time to time filled in while Dr Smith was away. In December 2009 she joined the practice and is now a full-time associate veterinarian.With her she brings over 20 years of clinical experience. Dr Heath was raised in Vancouver. After graduating from UBC in animal science she completed two years of Post graduate studies in Australia before obtaining her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. The focus of her career has always been companion animals, although she enjoyed spending her first seven years in mixed animal rural practice working with beef cattle. She has also worked in many practices throughout BC as a locum veterinarian. She settled on Vancouver Island 10 years ago. Of particular interest to Dr. Heath is soft tissue and elective surgeries and wound management.
At present, Nancy's four-legged family includes two cats (Seven and Victor) and two dogs (Timbit and Fezzik). Outside the office, Nancy and Timbit are keen competitors in dog agility and recently placed sixth at the AAC National Championships in Calgary. Well done!
